Dermatology: Health & Happiness – In Mind & Body

True happiness & peace come from within. It is only when your body and mind are in complete harmony that you can get the most out of life. Living in the 21st century demands a busy lifestyle, but in the end, it’s the little things that matter. The mind & body have to be disciplined in order to lead a life that is full of true happiness & health.

The whole body counts, but let’s talk Dermatology!

Keeping your whole body healthy & refreshed is imperative, but first we need to take care of our first line of defense – the skin, nails & hair. Our body functions like clock-work, each & every organ depends on each other to make you tick! But, what we are about to discuss here relates to exposed areas of the body that need to bear the brunt of the harsh environments surrounding us on a daily basis. The skin safeguards our body from various external factors, while our hair saves us from environmental influences, regulates body temperature, acts as a sense organ & effects external appearances & confidence. The nails however, are used to protect and grasp things. Dermatology involves in-depth study, research, diagnosis and treatment of conditions that may affect all of the above.

Dermatologic conditions include acne, dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, fungal infections & more. Not all of the above may cause life-threatening scenarios, but some can! So let’s keep all of these out of our lives.

Okay, So why a Dermatologist?

As spoken above, dermatological conditions can cause health issues as well as reduce your confidence in facing the outside world. They can become a hindrance on a daily basis with the ability to put you in a tight, psychological corner. We need someone to care for these aspects, and that’s where a Dermatologist jumps in. Dermatologists are trained medical practitioners, experts or doctors whom you should consult if you have any problems with skin, hair, & nails.

Demand for Dermatologists, and the supply of patients for Dermatological treatments, have been on the rise for the last few years. The reasons for this can be due to environmental, psychological and hereditary factors as well as the food we eat.
